Who we are

Our role
We act as the data controller for information you provide when you use the Service. Our payment provider, Paddle, acts as an independent controller for payment and billing data.
What we collect and why
- Account information (email, sign-in credentials, name if you provide it) — to create and secure your account.
- Content you create (journal notes, favorites, sister-wall posts) — to provide the Service and let you retrieve your entries.
- Usage and device data (device type, IP address, basic analytics) — to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud, and improve it.
- Support messages — to respond to your questions.
Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of performance of a contract(delivering the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests(security, service improvement), consent (where required, e.g. for optional cookies), and legal obligation where applicable.
Who we share it with
- Paddle — our Merchant of Record for subscription sales, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing. See Paddle's privacy notice.
- Service providers — hosting, database, and email delivery providers who process data on our behalf under contract.
- Authorities — where required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.
International transfers
Some of our providers are located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep it for legal or accounting purposes.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email info.lifevault@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security in our database — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to reduce risk.
Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies and local storage entries to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time.
